New Beads

Oh I love getting my little packages in the post!

I have a local bead shop here in town that I love to shop in and after seeing me wearing on of my bracelets were I used some Humblebeads

they now carry some of Heather's beads. They don't have a huge selection so I still have to buy some of  her new styles/colors etc. from her directly :).

So my newest additions are these...

So today I am sitting down and creating--what I do not know yet. 

I have the house to myself and all the housework is caught up with, well ok there is a load or two of laundry that needs doing but it can wait till I am done creating with my new little treasures!

PEONIES

I have an abundance of Peonies in my garden this year. I guess that home made compost paid off.

The Peony flower is among the longest-used flowers in ornamental culture. It is a traditional floral symbol of China, where it is called (mu-dan). In 1903, the Qing Dynasty declared the peony as the national flower.

Peonies have been cultivated in Asia for more than a thousandjears. Requiring such careful cultivation, they were flowers that only the rich could ajjord to grow in Japan. Therefore the peony symbolizes prosperity for the Japanese.

The peony flower grants its recipient the power to keep a Secret. In its tightly clenched petals, nymphs could hide.

I love to take Macro photographs of flowers. The Peony lends itself well to this type of photography. Here are some examples of my recent work.

CUSTOM ORDER FOR SHELTIE19

A wonderful artist herself, Sheltie19 specializes in Lampwork beads and Sculpted glass. She has a wonderful store over at ETSY ( http://Seltie19.etsy.com ). I have bought things from her and always been pleased and she makes custom items also (you can read feedback from her buyers if you dont believe me) .

So it was my great pleasure when she came over to my store and bought herself one of my custom bracelets for herself.  This is what she had to say; "I just adore this.. I have worn it several times.. it is nice to have a bracelet that actually fits me.. thank you so much" 

Well Sheltie came back and placed another order for a custom bracelet (pictures below) but this one is for her mom. She really was wonderful to work with. She gave me the colors that she was interested in and I emailed her pics of the beads that I thought would work and once she ok'd them I started beading! I did make one minor change to her mothers bracelet, I added a magnetic clasp instead of a toggle clasp. Something that I thought would make wearing and putting on /off the bracelet easier for her mom.   What you see below is the finished piece    

A spiral twist bracelet. The core of the bracelet is a yellowish white colored bead and the twisted spiral is made up of  light and dark periwinkle beads.
